TAKE A CHALLENGING CROSS COUNTRY TRIP TO A DISTANT DESTINATION

NEXT ADVENTURE, PRIEST LAKE & GLACIER PARK, MONTANA

Give us a call for info on our next trip- 360-378-6991

Cross country training is often not far from home. A lot can be learned on a more distant trip with a qualified instructor. Add to your knowledge of mountain flying, weather analysis, pilotage and GPS navigation.

Our Westwind Adventure trips expand your horizons. Three pilots will share flying duties and get a chance to see and experience mountain flying, high altitude T/Os and Landings. You'll sharpen your navigation and communication skills. Either Dan or Allan will be along to provide instruction during the trip. We'll spend one night in Kalispell.

We'll be flying in our Cessna 172 Superhawk with 180 hp engine and Garmin 530 GPS. There will be 3 legs each day so each pilot will have a leg to fly. Each pilot will have a job on each leg, whether flying or not. Those in the back seat will be assigned navigational tasks to test and improve their skills. This include navigating by the sectional chart only, learning how to use Garmin GPS (back pilots will have Garmin 295 to work with and can also observe Garmin 530 operation up front). Westwind's experience is that your navigational skills will improve dramatically with the opportunity to concentrate solely on navigational tasks.

There are 3 seats available for the trip. If a pilot would like to bring along a guest, they are more than welcome. The cost of the trip will be shared three ways.

We think you'll get a lot out of one of these trips.

Comments on previous Westwind Adventures ;

"If you really want to stretch your wings, stretch your horizons, and learn a ton about flying.....call in sick, borrow the money, do whatever it takes to go on a Westwind Aviation Adventure cross-country!

I made the flight from St. Louis to Friday Harbor. Total immersion flying and learning. Pure pilotage, weather, mountain flying, decisions decisions decisions... You had to learn it, you'll get to use it. It all makes sense. Six eight quebec is a great plane and the Garmin 530 is a kick. It's full days of flying and/or navigating. You'll talk flying in the air and with the pilots you meet on the ground.

You really get out there but with a very experienced pilot (who's also good company). Meet wonderful people along the way, see some country. It will totally expand your sense of the possibilities for more adventures. Most important, you will come back a smarter, safer, more confident pilot.

Break out of your shell, fly the coop, ......(and don't forget a bathing suit for the hot tub)....."

"Serious mountain flying combined with absolutely fantastic scenery. You can't do much better than that"
